We are deeply saddened to share the loss of Scott Silva, analyst at Silva Capital Solutions, who passed away on August 14. Scott quite literally grew up around the PEO industry and for the past five years worked alongside his mother, Wanda Silva, providing strategic counsel to PEO owners on a variety of issues including M&A, leadership transitions and valuation.
His election to the 2026 NextGen Leadership Class recognized what so many in our community already saw—a talented young professional with a bright future and a genuine desire to contribute to the health and success of the PEO industry. Scott also served on the NAPEO Gives Back committee and contributed regularly to PEO Insider, demonstrating his willingness to give back to our industry and help others.
Scott had a desire to learn and was an eager participant in NAPEO’s mentorship program. Scott Johnson of Paychex, who led Scott’s mentorship cohort, remembers him as “a bright and shining light,” a sentiment that was echoed multiple times by his peers in the NextGen program.
“He was a selfless and giving soul and his fondness for his peers was all too evident whenever he and I spoke privately. I loved those times of reflection and introspection with him,” Johnson says.
“Scott cared deeply about this industry and his enthusiastic and optimistic spirit was infectious to anyone who was fortunate to know him,” says NAPEO President & CEO Casey Clark. “His contributions and impact will be sorely missed.”
We extend our deepest sympathy to his mother Wanda, his wife Lizzy, his brother Alan and their entire family.
